Blues Alive in Prague: Jimmy Carpenter Band (USA)

Blues Alive in Prague
Jimmy Carpenter Band (USA)

Tuesday 10/11/2026 from 20:00

Jimmy Carpenter Band brings contemporary American blues and rhythm & blues to Prague in a form that is both musically first-rate and completely direct. Saxophonist, singer, guitarist, songwriter, and arranger Jimmy Carpenter, originally from New Orleans, is one of the most respected figures on today’s scene. He is a two-time Blues Music Award winner in the Best Instrumentalist/Horn category (2021 and 2022) and also a Grammy winner as co-writer of a song on Atmosphere by the New Orleans Nightcrawlers. His album Just Got Started, released on Gulf Coast Records, debuted at No. 10 on the Billboard Blues Chart and followed a string of highly acclaimed releases. The album was produced by the award-winning Kid Andersen at Greaseland Studio in California.

Over the course of his career, Carpenter has toured the world alongside artists such as Tinsley Ellis, Jimmy Thackery, Walter “Wolfman” Washington, Eric Lindell, and Mike Zito. In addition to performing with his own band, he is also a member of Bill Murray & His Blood Brothers, serves as musical director of the Big Blues Bender festival, and is president of the Las Vegas Blues Society. Expect energetic, deeply rooted music at the crossroads of blues, rhythm & blues, soul, and American roots rock — a concert built not on flashy effects, but on experience, drive, and genuine musicianship.
