Kennedy Administration (USA)
The soul, groove and jazz sensation from the heart of Brooklyn/ NYC: Kennedy Administration
“I believe Kennedy Administration is going to be the next big star on the music scene” – Gregory Porter
“Listening to this record brings me back to my years living in New York, watching the band set fire to stages in the West Village and going home inspired. Things haven’t changed a bit.” Michael League (Snarky puppy)
“Nothing lifts the spirits like a good soothing, chill, well balanced GRUV… Excellent job guys” – Richard Bona
“So excited by the new musical lovescape conjured up by Kennedy and her Administration with their new release SECOND TERM. The sound is fresh, hypnotic, musicianship is superb, fronted by Kennedy’s amazing vocals.” - Dee Dee Bridgewater
As a follow up to their 2017 self-titled debut, the Kennedy Administration takes things up a notch or two on Second Term. Once again featuring the dynamic vocals of charismatic soul diva Kennedy and the talents of keyboardist/composer/producer and musical director Ondre J, this Brooklyn-based aggregation of groovemeisters brings an irresistible blend of funk, rock, soul and fun on their uplifting sophomore outing. The album once again showcases the deep chemistry and songwriting talents of these superb musicians, including the vocalist who provides the spark and the soul — and the name. That would be Kennedy herself. A Michigan native who did her first singing in church, Kennedy grew up with few limits on her listening. Everyone from Anita Baker to Ella Fitzgerald, Sade to Michael Jackson, Dave Matthews to Prince, Kennedy heard and embraced. Since moving east, she has worked with Eric Benét, Kenny Lattimore, Monifah, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Christian McBride, GhostNotes, Ray Angry, Jame Genus, Mark Whitfield, Christina Aguilera , Arrested Development, Black Thought, Toshi Reagan, Katherine Russel, Terri Lyne Carrington, Felicia Collins and Cheryl Pepsi-Riley, among others — her calling card a voice that combines great influences with character all its own. Along the way she met another New York transplant: Ondre J, a keyboardist, composer and recording artist originally from the Czech Republic, currently a touring and recording bandmate of Grammy-winning jazz singer Gregory Porter. The collaboration led to a band, which starting in 2014 led to a memorable run at Groove.
