About the Khamoro Festival

The Khamoro Festival (meaning “sunshine” in Romani) is the largest professional Roma festival in the world. Since 1999, it has been held in Prague and organized by Slovo 21 and Studio Production Saga. Over the years, more than 260 bands from 33 countries have performed at the festival – including world-renowned supergroups such as Mahala Rai Banda, Kočani Orkestar, and Parno Graszt. In addition to concerts by Roma bands from across the globe, Khamoro also features exhibitions, a children’s day, oral history sessions, film screenings, dance workshops, and expert conferences. The festival draws approximately 10,000 visitors each year from the Czech Republic and abroad. Khamoro’s core mission is to connect the Roma minority with the majority society through art. From the beginning, the festival has been supported by figures such as Václav Havel. Khamoro is a proud recipient of the prestigious EFFE Label – a European hallmark of festival quality.

Gypsy Jazz Concerts

Recognized around the globe, this musical style channels deep emotion, the artist’s current mood, and the very essence of a musician’s life. Dario Napoli Trio (ITA)

Gypsy jazz with a modern twist? Absolutely! Phenomenal Italian guitarist Dario Napoli draws inspiration from the legendary Django Reinhardt but isn’t afraid to break new ground. He infuses traditional gypsy swing with elements of bebop, funk, and modern jazz – creating a fresh and unexpected sound full of energy! His trio features two exceptional musicians: Tonino De Sensi on double bass and rhythm guitarist Benji Winterstein, considered by critics to be one of the top players in the genre worldwide. Dario and his ensemble have performed on some of the world’s most prestigious stages and festivals, so of course they couldn’t miss the world’s biggest Roma festival. One thing’s for sure – this group knows how to blow you away!
