A musical evening dedicated to artists who transform their voices into multi-layered musical instruments. You can look forward to vocal layering, looping, beatboxing, working with effects and other technologies. Performing will be Ondřej Ruml with his “Nahubu” project, beatboxer and looping performer Endru with guitarist Kirill Yakovlev, and the one-man orchestra Circus Ponorka, led by Jan Ponocný. It will be an evening full of creativity, rhythm and fascinating soundscapes. Each performer will play a set lasting about an hour.
Ondřej Ruml – "Nahubu" The one-man show Nahubu is a unique project in which the singer creates all the music himself, using only his voice. It is not a conventional musical performance, but rather a unique and entertaining combination of theatre and music. “I don’t deny that Bobby McFerrin is a great inspiration to me, but I’m taking a slightly different approach because I also use a looper. With its help, I record vocal loops, creating multi-part songs,” says Ondřej, who was nominated for Male Singer of the Year at the prestigious 2017 Anděl Music Awards for his latest work, the album Nahubu, and won the Male Singer of the Year award in the Žebřík poll.
Endru & Kirill Yakovlev Endru is a singer, vocal producer, and a world vice-champion in looping and beatboxing. Kirill Yakovlev is one of the leading Czech guitarists, a multi-instrumentalist and producer known for the Kirill Yakovlev Trio, the CIRILIC project and B/Y Organism. Their joint duo delivers improvised music that moves across genres throughout the concert and is always built around beatboxing and looped grooves. The energetic performances of both artists combine influences from hip-hop, nu-soul, Latin music, jazz, house and world music. As Endru and Kirill Yakovlev put it, their music is “born for listening, meditation and a slimming dance workout.”
Circus Ponorka A captivating one-man show by guitarist and film-music composer Honza Ponocný. Using guitars, microphones and loopers, he performs his songs from the films Revival, Perfect Days and Buko, as well as from the TV series Dabing Street. At his concerts, the audience usually holds its breath within the first minute and only takes a proper breath after the final encore. Circus Ponorka is addictive—and anyone who encounters it once is caught for life. Josef Vlček, in a review for Headliner.cz: “Honza Ponocný has spent years demonstrating on club stages that he is the most technically and technologically accomplished one-man-band guitarist of his generation. Without the slightest exaggeration, he has managed to record an album that, with the support of quality marketing, could establish itself on international markets as well.”
Admission: Advance tickets through September 30—1,400 CZK for seated tickets, 700 CZK for standing tickets; through November 7—1,500 CZK for seated tickets, 750 CZK for standing tickets; and at the door on the day of the concert—1,600 CZK for seated tickets, 800 CZK for standing tickets. VIP admission: 1,900 CZK (seats near the stage in direct contact with the band). When purchasing a seat ticket, it is no longer necessary to reserve a seat.
