Jazz On The Roof

As is tradition, we bring you our summer concert series titled Jazz On The Roof. From May to September, a small chamber ensemble will perform every Saturday afternoon on the roof of Jazz Dock, offering you the peaceful summer atmosphere of acoustic jazz.

The ensemble of vocalist Petra Vlková, guitarist Libor Šmoldas, and pianist Mikuláš Pokorný offers an unconventional take on the jazz trio format – without bass or drums, but with maximum mutual interaction. Here, the voice is not a solo line supported by accompaniment, but a fully equal part of a musical trialogue. Guitar and piano share rhythmic and harmonic roles, blending naturally into a constantly evolving soundscape. Their repertoire includes lesser-known jazz pieces and fresh takes on classics, all tied together by freedom, playfulness, and a strong focus on the present moment.

Jazz vocalist Petra Vlková has been part of the scene for nearly 25 years. Trained in classical piano, she carved out her own path toward jazz and vocal artistry. Her distinctive sound, playfulness, and improvisational skill have earned her not only devoted audiences but also the respect of fellow musicians. Libor Šmoldas is one of the rare Czech jazz guitarists to achieve recognition far beyond his home country. He performs regularly on the international stage, collaborates with acclaimed jazz artists, and is also active as a teacher. Pianist Mikuláš Pokorný moves with natural virtuosity between traditional and modern jazz, drawing inspiration from both worlds. In addition to his own projects, he collaborates with leading musicians from the Czech Republic and abroad, bringing a creative and original voice to the jazz scene.

Admission: Seating – 250 CZK in advance, 300 CZK at the door. Deck chair seating – 200 CZK in advance, 250 CZK at the door. It is not possible to reserve specific seats for the concert. Club discounts do not apply to this concert. Thank you for your understanding.
