Shum Davar
Shum Davar (דבר שום) is an international ensemble based in Prague, made up of musicians from Belarus, Georgia, Bohemia, Slovakia and currently also Amsterdam. The band has been on the scene since 2013 and mainly plays Jewish, Roma, Eastern European and Caucasian folk and folk songs. The band's traditional repertoire is also complemented by original compositions by accordionist Aliaksandr Yasinski. They have three albums to their credit - Lieben (2016), Tbilisi (2017) and Folklore Fusions (2020). In the spring of 2022, they released the single Tribute to Ukraine, processing Ukrainian songs by Čorna Rilla and Svaľava Kazačok, with which they called for persistent support of the resistance against the tyrants ruling in contemporary Russia and Belarus. Currently, the band is preparing a release of album Rebirth where you can also find Turkish traditionals recorded together with singer ILÆY. Aliaksandr Yasinski is a Belarusian accordionist (bayan, button accordion), composer and arranger who, among other things, co-founded the band Shum Davar. He brings to his repertoire original songs and folk songs, especially East Slavic and Balkan. His musicality and temperament also finds great use in klezmer songs.
