Veronika Vítová – Průhledný svět
Veronika Vítová’s original project Transparent World will be presented at Jazz Dock in a special eleven-piece lineup, assembled specifically for this evening. The band will be joined by the string ensemble Unique Quartet and cimbalom player Ľubomír Gašpar, creating a unique formation that highlights her new compositions and the arrangements by Alex Aslamas.The concert offers music on the edge of jazz, folk, traditional influences, and improvisation – with no stylistic limits, no compromises.
Veronika Vítová was born in Prague. She discovered Jazz at the age of 28, when she decided to apply for, and was accepted into, the jazz vocal studies program at the Jaroslav Ježek Conservatory in Prague. Jazz changed her life completely. She met the best musicians and created her own projects. In 2011, Veronika established the vocal jazz a cappella group SKETY. They won the Jirkovský Písňovar in 2011, Vokal.Total (international competition in Graz) in 2014, and brought home two second prizes from Aarhus and Tampere in 2017. They’ve toured in Taiwan and Australia and are currently performing all over Europe. Veronika is also a regular guest of the Jazz Dock Orchestra, a contemporary Jazz big band housed in Jazz Dock. She loves classical music, and is lucky to cooperate as a solo singer with the Berg Orchestra, an ensemble performing modern classical music. She is also a member of the Musica Panica ensemble, performing early music.
